Sir Geoff Hurst was a hugely talented centre-forward for a West Ham United side that won the FA Cup in 1964 and the European Cup Winners' Cup the following year. But, whatever he may have achieved at club level, he will be forever remembered as the striker who scored a hat-trick for England as they won the FIFA World Cup™ on home soil in 1966. No player has scored a hat-trick in the final since, such is the nature of his remarkable performance on that famous day for the Three Lions.
