FC Barcelona

Catalan giants FC Barcelona are more of an institution than a football club. Formed in 1899, they have more than 150,000 members and millions upon millions of fans across the globe. It's not hard to see why when you consider Camp Nou has been home to some of football's most famous faces, with the likes of Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona, Romario and Ronaldo all gracing that most hallowed of Catalonian turf. Characterised by a ferocious desire for success – often at the expense of great rivals Real Madrid – while remainng steadfast in its dedication to playing the game "the right way", La Blaugrana are one of the world's most successful and admired clubs. Nowadays, the club is in the midst of a golden era, as five-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi heads a superstar cast of outrageous talent, including Neymar Jr, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta. Put simply, FC Barcelona is more than a club.
