The English Football League system is the envy of the world. Below the twenty Premier League clubs at the top of the pyramid are a myriad of historic institutions followed by thousands upon thousands of supporters. Only in England could you have over thirty thousand supporters at a match in the third tier. Only in England could you see such remarkable interest and fervent passion for games well beneath the topflight. Only in England could you have the Football League.
