Chelsea

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea for £140 million in June 2003 and current manager Claudio Ranieri was soon replaced by Jose Mourinho. It was under the Portuguese that Chelsea flourished, winning the Premiership and League Cup in 2005 and making it to the Champions League semi-finals. After keeping the title the following season they were league runners-up in 2006/07, scooping the FA Cup and League Cup double instead. Under Avram Grant in 2007/08 Chelsea, featuring the home-grown talents of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole, narrowly missed out in their first ever Champions League Final against Manchester United. Under the brief stewardship of former player Roberto Di Matteo, Chelsea became the first London club to win the Champions League with an incredible win over FC Bayern in 2012. In 2013, Jose Mourinho returned to the club and brought League Cup and Premier League success in only his second season back at the Bridge.
