Jurgen Klopp
Jurgen Klopp
One of football's brightest characters both in and out of the technical area, Jurgen Klopp has a fanbase stretching much beyond that which is enjoyed by most ordinary managers. Then again, the German is no ordinary manager – no matter how normal he says he is. Cutting his managerial teeth at Mainz after a somewhat unspectacular playing career in his homeland, Klopp moved in May 2008 to Borussia Dortmund, the club at which his global popularity would spark into life. Back-to-back Bundesliga titles between 2011 and 2012 ensured his legacy at BVB before a UEFA Champions League run in 2013 brought him to the attentions of the wider world. Appointed Liverpool manager in the October 2015, Klopp's "heavy metal football" has Merseyside rocking. A UEFA Champions League title in 2019 rewarded Klopp's phenomenally entertaining side. Now only time will tell if "The Normal One" can bring the English title back to Anfield.
