Martin Johnson

Martin Johnson
A colossus for club and country for nearly two decades, Martin Johnson is one of the greatest players English rugby has ever produced and his place in the game's folklore is etched in stone having lifted the Rugby World Cup in Australia in 2003. Johnson represented his country 84 times, winning the Six Nations five times. At club level, the Tigers stalwart won five Guinness Premiership titles and two Heineken Cups and also toured with the British & Irish Lions three times, famously captaining the victorious 1997 squad that triumphed in South Africa. His finest hour, however, came in 2003 when he lead England to victory in the World Cup final against Australia in Sydney, becoming the first player from the northern hemisphere to lift the Webb Ellis trophy.
