Henry Cooper

Few British boxers have ever had the sustained adoration and respect that Sir Henry Cooper gained during his career as a heavyweight boxer during the 1950s and 1960s. The first man to ever win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award twice, Cooper was perhaps best known for his powerful left hook, nicknamed 'Enry's 'Ammer. In Cooper's heyday it was an awesome strike that felled the very best, including Muhammad Ali himself, who once said Cooper "had hit him so hard that his ancestors in Africa felt it". Though he never won a world title, Cooper is still widely revered to this day and remains one of the most popular boxers ever to have lived.
