Billy McNeill

Billy McNeill
Celtic's greatest ever captain was a true giant of the Scottish game. He was the first Briton to lift the European Cup when the Bhoys conquered Europe in 1967, creating the enduring legend of the Lisbon Lions. But McNeill was always so much more than Lisbon. As a player and a manager McNeill won a whopping 31 major trophies with Celtic. A no-nonsense centre back, McNeill was given the nickname Cesar and by the time he retired as a player in 1975 he'd pulled on the green and white hoops a club-record 822 times.
