The FA Cup

Widely regarded the best-loved and most-watched domestic cup competition in the world, the FA Cup is an institution quite unlike any other. Its first matches took place in November of 1871 and is still going strong today, fuelled not only by the desire for silverware from the biggest clubs in the English football pyramid but also the dreams of the smallest. After all, this is a competition that can elevate part-timers and journeymen to the biggest stages. It can pit bus drivers and postmen against multi-millionaire World Cup winners. Season after season, final after final, round after round, there is – and always has been – a magic imbued and ingrained in this historically important Cup.
