Richie McCaw

Richie McCaw is New Zealand's captain and the first player in the country's history to win 100 test caps. McCaw, who plays as open-side flanker, is a national hero and an inspiration to his teammates.

McCaw made his international debut against Ireland in 2001. He put in a man-of-the-match performance, and secured his place as the All Blacks' first choice open-side flanker for the 2003 World Cup. Since his debut New Zealand have won seven Tri Nation titles, completed three successful Grand Slam tours, and won the Blendiscoe Cup eight times.

He became captain of the All Blacks in 2006, and having led them at the World Cup in 2007, the 2011 World Cup was his second as captain. He is regarded as one of the world's best flankers, and has contributed 99 points during his international career.
