Mario Kempes

Mario Kempes
One of only three players to ever win the Golden Ball, the Golden Boot and a winner's medal at the same FIFA World Cup, Mario Kempes wrote his name into Argentine folklore during an astonishing tournament on home soil in 1978. Scoring twice in an iconic final against the Netherlands, as Argentina won 3-1 to secure their first ever FIFA World Cup crown, Kempes became a living legend for his goalscoring exploits during a dream competition for one of the world's most football-mad nations. Away from the Albiceleste, the Bell Ville-born striker won two consecutive Pichichis during a long stint at Valencia but it's in the light blue and white of his national team that Kempes is best known.
