Ossie Ardiles

One of the first foreign imports, Ossie Ardiles brought Argentinian glamour to the English game long before the likes of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano. His decade-long spell at White Hart Lane brought two FA Cups and a UEFA Cup victory for Tottenham. Already a World Cup winner when he arrived in England in 1978, Ardiles enhanced his reputation still further with his performances for Spurs. He formed a dynamic partnership with Glen Hoddle in central midfield which few teams could cope with and did much to pave the way for future foreign stars arriving in England.
