An all-time Tottenham great. Glenn Hoddle was one of the finest British players of his era, recognised as an immensely gifted attacking midfielder with superb passing skills and close ball control. He made 377 appearances for Spurs, scoring 88 goals and inspiring the club to both FA Cup and UEFA Cup trophies. As Jean-Luc Ettori, Monaco's club captain when Hoddle played there, put it: 'For us Glenn was le bon dieu - he was a god. There's nothing else to say.'
