South Africa fly-half Morne Steyn is new to Icons. The 27-yeard-old from Cape Town plays at number 10 for the Springboks internationally as well as for the Bulls in the Super 14 tournament, and for the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup. He was a member of the team that won the 2009 Super 14, and ended that season as leading points scorer.
Steyn, who is a key member of South Africa's 2011 World Cup squad, has won an Under-21 World Cup with the Springboks, as well as two Currie Cups, three Super rugby titles and one Tri-Nations. His finest performance for South Africa to date came in the 2009 Tri-Nations against New Zealand. The Springboks won 31-19 in Durban, and Steyn put on an incredible showing to score all his sides points, setting a new world record. Since his South Africa debut in 2009, Steyn has so far amassed 24 caps, scoring 311 points in the process.
