Signed Photo: Lifting The 1978 World Cup
Personally signed by Daniel Passarella
This superb photo shows Argentina captain Daniel Passarella lifting the 1978 World Cup after his country's 3-1 extra-time victory over Holland.
Mario Kempes had opened the scoring for the host nation, only for Dick Nanninga to equalise just before the 90-minute mark. After the Dutch missed the chance to win the match in the dying seconds of normal time, Rob Rensenbrink's shot bouncing off the post, the Argentinians scored twice in extra time. First Daniel Bertoni scored, before Mario Kempes added his second of the match to make Argentina World Champions for the first time.
Passerella stepped up to lift the trophy in front of an ecstatic home crowd, and to write his name in the history books.
