Picture Research

As last season fades from memory and the new one approaches, we at Icons are presented with the challenge of developing the website to be as accurate and up to date as possible.  One key area is the picture research required to accompany the player and team profiles we use. The variable nature of the world of football means that picture research is a continued and important process. Not only do these photographs help to liven up the website but they also add a real-life visual context to the products we sell. It is therefore important that we utilise pictures that are relevant and of a good quality.

We research and collect our pictures from a specialist press images website that provides a library of both modern and historical pictures. We search these photographs to find those images that we feel will work well on the site. It then becomes a matter of downloading the files, cropping them to the right size, accurately naming and finally uploading the pictures on to our website. Then, with a bit of luck, we can provide a website that looks professional, but ultimately enhances the user's experience of the site.
