Squad Signed 1982 European Cup Jersey
Personally signed by Aston Villa Team 1982
In 1982 Aston Villa overcame German giants Bayern Munich by one goal to nil at the De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam, Holland to become the champions of Europe for the first and only time in their history. It was an incredible achievement by the unfancied club, even more so as manager Ron Saunders had quit the club halfway through the season to be replaced by Tony Barton.
Not only that, but goalkeeper Nigel Spink came on as substitute in the tenth minute of the final to make only his second first-team appearance.
This replica 1982 European Cup Shirt has been signed by nine of the victorious team. They are: Nigel Spink, Dennis Mortimer, Des Bremner, Gary Shaw, Gordon Cowans, Gary Williams, Tony Morley, Alan Evans and Kenny Swain. The shirt was signed on November 13, 2008 in Birmingham.
This superb shirt is a fantastic item of sports memorabilia and represents the finest moment in the Midlands club's illustrious history.
